Check out the Delaware’s Bayshore Byway Corridor Management Plan to learn about this initiative which includes “Discovery Zones” from New Castle to St. Jones Neck. Efforts are underway to extend the Byway to Lewes which would also include Bowers, Milford, and Milton. In a recent Delaware’s Bayshore Byway Marketing Committee meeting, DelDOT indicated that the nomination of Delaware’s Bayshore Byway to the Federal Highway Administration met the requirements for becoming an All-American Road, the highest category of Byway. Once one of the premier fishing towns on the Delaware Bay with an average of three hundred boats at the docks or moorings, this town has endeared itself to many residents of the state. People come to fish, to paint, to drink and eat, and to stroll the beaches looking for treasures.
